This book features chapters covering preferences among Malaysian population towards preferred benefit packages of health insurance for women through gender approach. Gender-based approach in providing healthcare services is still lacking, especially in health insurance. Women tends to utilize healthcare services more compared to men, even though some studies have shown that women have less access to health services. Better information on the expectations of benefit packages among women and the men's perception on what women need are lacking; this leads to gender inequality in the utilization of healthcare services. In addition, global trends show more countries are embracing social health insurance for their population. Therefore, this book highlights the packages to be included in the health insurance for women. In addition, this book highlights the gender preferences and sociodemographic factors, health risks, and subscription to health insurance towards benefit packages preferences for women. This book attempts to highlight the type of benefit packages preferred for women whether, preventive/promotive, curative, or rehabilitative packages, as well as the association between men's and women’s preferences on their preferred benefit packages to be covered by health insurance for women.
