This book is for readers with a basic to advance background in syntax. This book contributes to our understanding of passives in Standard Arabic. Passives in the Standard Arabic language are given a thorough syntactic analysis in this book utilizing the latest theory in syntax. This book contributes to a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the formation of passives in Standard Arabic within Chomsky’s most recent minimalist approach. It discusses in detail passivization in Arabic using Minimalist Program as its framework. This book is built on three essential pillars: passives, Standard Arabic, and the minimalist approach. It is divided into four chapters. It embarks from a descriptive analysis to a syntactic analysis of passives in Standard Arabic in those chapters. Based on our best knowledge, there is no comprehensive study of this vital issue in Standard Arabic.
